1. Business information

Platform name: NYBO

General contact email: info@nybo.ie

NYBO operates as a local neighbour-to-neighbour rental marketplace based in Ireland.

2. About the platform

NYBO is an online marketplace platform that allows users to list, discover, and rent items locally. The platform is designed to help users connect with nearby lenders and renters for short-term item rentals.

Unless we clearly state otherwise, NYBO acts as an intermediary platform. We are not automatically the owner, manufacturer, or direct supplier of listed items.

3. Pre-contract information

Before a user completes a transaction, we aim to provide clear information about:

  • the item or service being offered;
  • the rental price and any platform fees;
  • any applicable deposit, payment hold, or pre-authorisation;
  • the key booking, delivery, collection, return, and cancellation conditions;
  • how users can contact support or make a complaint.

4. Seller status disclosure

Some listings may be offered by private individuals, while others may be offered by users acting as businesses, sole traders, or other commercial sellers.

Where relevant, users may be asked to indicate whether they are acting as:

  • a private individual / consumer;
  • a sole trader;
  • a company or other business user.

Consumer law protections may differ depending on whether the seller or lender is acting as a business or as a private individual. Where a seller is a private individual rather than a business, certain consumer-law protections may not apply in the same way.

5. Marketplace disclosure

NYBO provides the online marketplace infrastructure, including listings, account features, trust signals, verification tools, payment facilitation, and dispute support processes where available.

However, the actual rental agreement for a listed item is generally made between the lender and the renter. The platform may help facilitate the transaction, but this does not automatically make NYBO the seller, lender, or direct contracting party for every item listed on the platform.

6. Ranking disclosure

Search results, featured listings, and recommendations on NYBO may be ranked or displayed based on one or more of the following factors:

  • relevance to the user's search;
  • distance or local availability;
  • listing quality and completeness;
  • item category and current availability;
  • trust signals, such as verification status or account history;
  • user responsiveness;
  • recent activity on the listing;
  • dispute history or platform safety considerations.

We may also apply badges, highlights, or other visibility features to improve safety, trust, clarity, or user experience.

At present, NYBO does not guarantee that any listing will appear in a particular position in search results.

7. Paid influence on ranking

If NYBO introduces paid promotion, sponsored placement, or any other ranking-related paid feature in the future, we will clearly disclose this in our platform terms or relevant listing interface. CCPC guidance on the P2B Regulation says the main ranking parameters and whether ranking can be influenced by payment should be described in the platform's terms.

8. Consumer law and platform responsibility

Where a transaction involves a business seller, consumer rights under applicable Irish or EU consumer law may apply. Where a transaction involves a private individual, those protections may differ.

NYBO is responsible for its own platform services, including operating the website, handling support, and applying platform policies. Responsibility for the listed item itself, including its condition, legality, safety, and accuracy of description, generally remains with the user who listed it, unless law requires otherwise.
